Saving ‘PD’

The Restoration of Airco DH9 ‘PD’  G-EAQM from 1982 – 1990. A story told by Peter Reardon.

This is Peter’s story of the Australian Society for Aero-historical Preservation’s work to restore and save Lieutenants Ray Parer and John McIntosh’s historic Airco DH9 aircraft G-EAQM, ‘PD’ for future generations. Project date 1982 – 1990.  

This plane was flown in 1920 from England to Australia and was the second plane to achieve this feat and the first for a single engine airplane.
